Shearer Candles, the UK’s leading manufacturer of lifestyle candles is further deepening its British heritage with a new collection created under license for the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A). The Glasgow based family run business has created the unique collection under the ‘V&A Inspired’ label. The stunning candles and diffusers are available to buy online at www.shearer-candles.com, in store at The Candle Store, Govan and in independent retailers and department stores with a portion of the sale going to the V&A museum, the world’s largest museum of art and design. Founded in 1852 and named after Queen Victoria and her husband Prince Albert, the V&A museum in London is home to a diverse collection of art and design spanning 5000 years.

At retail prices between £40 and £45, the beautiful V&A collection made by Shearer Candles in Scotland is available in four fragrances of candles, diffusers and diffuser refill bottles. Heliotrope, Angelica, Ebony and Rose Geranium. The design, selected from the works of Arts and Crafts practitioner C.F.A Voysey (1857-1941) is reflected in both the glass and new gift packaging. The attractive and durable boxes are also designed to be reused. The launch of the V&A coincides with the brand new Shearer website which went live this month. After extensive investment and research, Shearer’s online presence now has a new look and feel which is not only on trend, but has a better functionality. With international markets becoming more and more prevalent to Shearer, the new site will show off Shearer’s unique products in a more friendly fashion and will cater to all international needs. Jeremy Lane, Sales and Marketing Director, Shearer Candles said: “The V&A has an international reputation for being at the forefront of design and we are delighted to team up with it to create this exclusive collection. Here at Shearer Candles we are committed to offering the highest quality of candles and accessories and our partnership with the V&A is another testament to the standard and authenticity of our products.” Lauren Sizeland, Director of V&A Licensing added: “Shearer’s long 115 year history and its British candle-making traditions and hand crafting ensure all its products are made with real care and attention. This timeless and commercial range is distinguished by the quality of workmanship and materials used.” In 2012 Shearer was re-awarded Grade A, the highest grade achievable, in the toughest quality audit by the British Retail Consortium. This means retailers and consumers can buy Shearer Candles in complete confidence they are buying the best.
