This August and September the Product Development, Sales and Marketing teams will be embarking on a mini trade exhibitions tour.
We first depart for Frankfurt and then return to the UK to exhibit in Birmingham. We have all been working extremely hard over the summer months preparing for these big events where we exhibit our new and existing candle ranges to the trade markets. Planning and designing exhibition stands, preparing stock, designing marketing literature and communicating to all our customers have been the key recent tasks of the Shearer Candles team.
Tendence in Frankfurt is the most important international consumer goods trade fair in the second half of the year for the home and gift sectors.
Around 2,000 exhibitors from all over the world come to showcase their latest products in the Giving and Living areas that occupy nine hall levels.
Firstly the PD department will embark to Frankfurt, Germany on the 22
nd of August to build up the Shearer Candles stand at Tendence. This involves the placing of candles onto our bespoke stand and making the area smell and look wonderful for visiting customers.
The sales team will then take over from the PD team when the show opens to the trade on the 24
thof August.
They will man the stand for the duration of the show, welcoming visiting customers, taking orders and generally promoting Shearer Candles to the world. When the show finishes on the 28th of August the PD team will return to break down the stand and pack up all the products on show to return to Shearer HQ.
With Tendence done and dusted we set our sights to
Autumn Fair in Birmingham at the NEC which begins on the 2nd of September until the 5th of September. It is the largest home and gift buying event of the Autumn season with 1,600 UK and international exhibitors, 60,000 new product launches and 9 distinct show sectors. Autumn Fair is a unique opportunity to discover exciting new talent, buy the hottest festive products and preview all that spring 2013 has to offer.
Hall 3 Stand E48 - F49 As before the PD team are despatched to build up and break down the stand and there after the sales team will man the stand for the duration of the selling period.
We love doing Autumn Fair as we get to meet and greet with many more of our existing UK trade customers.
We like to find out how business is going, what trends and styles they are going for this season and really just interact and build up our business relations.
We also like to have a look at our candle competition! Export shows are very different from home shows; but as part of the PD team it is very exciting to travel to different countries and absorb their business cultures and styles. This is the first time we will have exhibited in Frankfurt and hope to meet a great number of new or potential customers who will either distribute or sell Shearer Candles throughout Europe and even the world.
