Please read the following Terms & Conditions for Shearer Candles. By reading this you accept all Terms & Conditions stated here. If you do not agree then you must not use the website.

We reserve the right to update and amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. When changes are made we will reflect this on the site and endeavour to inform you. It is your responsibility to read the new Terms & Conditions regularly.

Privacy and Data Protection

Shearer Candles respects your privacy and will treat all information confidentially.

Data Collection

We require certain personal information when you register on our site or when you make a purchase. The data collected can include: Name, Address, Telephone number, Email address, Password and Payment details. We may also ask you general questions about the site in order to improve our service to you. We will not pass on your information to third parties.

By making a purchase on our website, you are not automatically subscribing to our newsletter. Subscription to our newsletter is by opt-in only, thereafter you will receive occassional promotional emails about our products and services. We do not sell or trade email databases with third parties. If you wish to unsubscribe from our email updates, please do so using the links at the bottom of our email campaigns.

Using your personal information

We will use your information for the following:

  • To process orders
  • To contact you about Shearer Candles promotions and services (with your consent only)
  • To maintain and improve the content of our website
  • For complaint handling and enquiries


Intellectual Property 

The content on the Shearer Candles website (logos, trademarks, pictures, text and designs) is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. You do not have permission to copy, modify, distribute or reproduce content from the Shearer Candles website.


Once you have placed an order online, you will be sent a confirmation email informing you that your order is being processed. If there are any problems with your order we will inform you as soon as possible. We reserve the right to refuse an order for any reason. In such circumstances you shall be informed and a refund (if pre-paid) will be issued accordingly.

Payment can be made via WorldPay or Paypal in a secure environment. We accept Visa, Delta, Mastercard, Switch, Visa Electron and Solo. If full payment for goods is not received, we reserve the right not to deliver the goods until all transactions are complete.


Please note: Our deliveries are currently being affected by staff shortages due to Covid-19. Standard delivery times are currently up to 14 days.

Please order before 12th December for delivery before Christmas.

If you provide us with your mobile number in your order details, our courier service will text you to advise you between which hour they will be delivering your parcel. If the time is unsuitable then you can text back requesting another delivery date. A next working day delivery option is available for UK orders placed before 11am (Not available to Islands Offshore or Scottish Highlands). Orders placed after 11am can still use the next working day delivery option where goods will be delivered a day after unless it's a UK bank holiday or weekend, whereby the goods will be delivered the next working day. (This option is not available for International deliveries). All deliveries need to be signed for. If you miss your delivery, the courier will leave a telephone card in order for you to arrange another delivery date without incurring an extra charge.

Deliveries are based on the value of your order. Deliveries outside the UK may incur additional charges such as local taxes for which you are responsible and payable by you. If you are not sure if extra charges are applicable to you, please contact us. Parcels bound for Islands offshore (excl Channel Islands) or Scottish Highlands will be sent by Royal Mail. These deliveries will be made between 3-5 working days and will not require a signature. A card will be left if you are not in directing you to reschedule a delivery or pick up from your local collection point. Due to legislation we are unable to ship liquid products by air. Liquids refer to Room Sprays and Diffuser Oil products. We will be unable to deliver these products in most overseas orders. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. *Working days include Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm and exclude weekends and bank holidays.

Damaged goods

Shearer Candles undergo a product quality check before orders are despatched. However, if you receive damaged goods, you must inform us via [email protected], your Account Manager or by calling +44 (0)141 445 1066 within 3 days of delivery. When contacting us, please include your order reference number, your name and a description and product code of the damaged items. Photographic evidence of the damaged product(s) is required or credit will be refused. If you wish for a refund for damaged goods, you will be refunded the full amount including the original delivery charges. Do not accept goods with visible damages.
Short/Non-Delivery much be reported within 3 days of receiving your delivery. When contacting us, please include your order reference number, your name and a description and product code of missing items. We also may ask for you to complete a DOR Form (Denial of Receipt). If you wish for a refund for missing goods, you will be refunded the full amount including the original delivery charges.

Returns policy

At Shearer Candles, our goal is to make your online shopping experience as enjoyable as possible. That is why, if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we will gladly accept returns up to 28 days from the date of purchase. You must return the goods in the condition that you received them. We shall not accept used products or those sent in an unsuitable condition.

On approval, you will be asked to send back the goods clearly stating your full name and order reference number. Once the goods have been received, the refund will be processed. Depending on your reason for returning you will not be refunded any original delivery charges.

If you are returning an incorrect order or a product which was delivered to you in a damaged or faulty state, we would ask you to follow returns procedures set out above. We will refund you the purchase price, the delivery charge and any parcel carrier costs you incur.

When returning items you are recommended to keep a proof of posting. Proof of posting will not be accepted as proof of delivery. We will not accept responsibility for lost or damaged parcels.


You agree that you are at your own risk when using the Shearer Candles website. We are not liable to any party in contract, tort or negligence for death, personal injury, damage, claim, loss, costs or expenses, specifically for:

  • Any special loss
  • Any loss of revenue, profits, business or contracts
  • Any loss of data
  • Any loss of reputation

Our website may contain links to other sites – we are not responsible for the content on these sites.


We make no warranty or guarantees regarding our products or information provided on our website. In particular we do not guarantee:

  • Burn times - as these may vary in different environments
  • Burning instructions and tips - these are provided for guidance only. It is your responsibility that all candles are used safely. We will not accept responsibility for misuse.

Availability of Shearer Candles website

We will endeavour to make our site available 24 hours a day. However, we reserve the right to occasionally restrict access or make our website unavailable without notice. We cannot guarantee that the website will be faultless at all times. In such circumstances we will do our very best to solve the problem as soon as possible.

Faulty Products much be reported within 3 days of complaint being raised. When contacting us, please include your order reference number, your name and a description and product code of faulty items. Photographic evidence of the damaged product(s) is required or credit will be refused. All faulty products must be returned to Shearer Candles before credit can be raised.

You may not assign, sub-license or otherwise transfer any of your rights under these Terms and Conditions.
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid by any court having competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of that provision will not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions, which shall remain in full force and effect.

Failure by either party to exercise any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions does not constitute a waiver of that right or remedy. Headings in these Terms and Conditions are for convenience only and will have no legal meanings or effects.
