Happy Burns Night candle lovers!
Burns Night is a celebration of the life and poetry of the famous Scottish poet, Robert Burns. Robert Burns is a really important figure in Scottish culture, so we annually celebrate the Bard’s birthday on Burns Night, 25th January.
A typical Burns Night celebration would be a sit down dinner, with many speeches, poetry readings, toast to the Haggis, ceilidh… and of course a fair few drams of Whisky. Like many things in life right now, Burns Night this year is a little bit different to normal, and many of us will be thinking of ways to mark the occasion from home.
We’ve seen some brilliant digital events advertised, including friend of Shearer Candles’ Janey Godley’s Big Burns Supper, so be sure to check that out tonight. So grab the Haggis and the Whisky and celebrate in style this evening!
