The Scottish company whose candles lit up Madonna’s wedding to director Guy Ritchie is to launch a unique range for the American market at the New York International Gift Fair.
For the first time, Shearer Candles will enter the US with its own brand when it unveils the ‘Highland’ range at the event in the Jacob K Javits Centre.
Established over 100 years ago in Glasgow, the family-run business - which has also produced hand-made candles for Janet Jackson and Billy Connolly among other celebrities - is recognised throughout the UK as a leading innovator in the highly competitive, design-conscious industry.
Jeremy Lane, Director, Shearer Candles, said: “In recent years, more and more American visitors to Scotland have shown an interest in our candles, and we’re delighted to be able to bring them to their doorstep.
“Our products are hand crafted, just as when the company started in 1897, and we believe they bring something unique to the marketplace. We look forward to our scents being enjoyed in American homes for many years to come.”
The bespoke ‘Highland’ selection will provide US consumers with the chance to indulge in a range of imported candles designed to encapsulate contemporary Scotland.
The new line features three scents, which like an unforgettable Scotch whisky are made using a unique blend on the finest waxes to ensure an even and long-lasting burn:
The New York International Gift Fair runs from January 28th until February 1st.
