Shearer Candles Ltd is a leading candle manufacturer and designer of “lifestyle” scented candles and candle-related products in Scotland.

Established in 1897, Shearer Candles, a family-run business based in Glasgow, UK is recognised as one of the leading innovators in the fashionable design conscious world of candles. With hundreds of customers in a variety of sectors including leading retailers, hotels, restaurants, supermarket chains and department stores as well as consumers, Shearer prides itself in delivering bespoke high quality candles by using only the purest and finest ingredients.

In 1897 Shearer Candles was formed by a Mr. Shearer and a Mr. Harvey, who set up a business together and built a new factory on the outskirts of Glasgow City. The two gentlemen had previously worked as chandlers in 'The Candleriggs' district of Glasgow, which was the centre for candle making in the city. The last of the Shearers retired in the 1970's and the present Barnet Family, who became involved in 1972, are now in the second generation. Our chairman, Ian Barnet, began making candles in 1972.

We set ourselves the highest standards that have underpinned the company's development from its foundation in 1897. Quality begins with the selection of the right materials and ends with the application of the most stringent testing and quality control procedures.
